The Benefits of Hypnosis for Relationships
Our subconscious holds on to so many unexpressed emotions. This inner excess can interfere with communication effectiveness or even create unnecessary tension, anger, resentment, or fear.
If you’re feeling frustrated within a relationship, it’s a possible sign that there is an unacknowledged blockage that can be short-circuiting your ability to socialize and experience intimacy. Hypnosis is a truly effective way to balance the unconscious relationship you have with yourself, and with others.
Lauren Hall, founder of Modern Day Hypnosis and an Emotional Development Specialist, works with groups and individuals to use hypnosis to their advantage. If you prefer solo hypnosis sessions, we can set goals and diffuse triggers that lead to emotional distress. Alternatively, we can work with all parties involved on a group and individual level to build stronger, healthier, happier relationships.
Some relationship goals can be achieved with short-term session strategies. Many organizations find value in using services like hypnotherapy and emotional intelligence to support teams and individual players to being their best selves.
The contribution you make to a relationship can improve quickly with simple, subconscious shifts. Use hypnosis to take your relationships to a next level of psychological security and contribution.
Hypnosis Services for Couples
Part of being in a romantic relationship is facing challenges together, as a couple. Many common obstacles couples face include:
- Infidelity and its aftermath
- Financial stress
- Spousal habit changes (e.g. snoring, insomnia, etc.)
- Balanced household responsibilities
- Hectic work schedules
When it’s time to make a change, diffuse conflict, build trust, or simply get a little extra support, hypnosis can be the means to a peaceful resolution. Modern Day Hypnosis works with couples together, and individually, to locate points of conflict and find meaningful solutions through hypnotic suggestion and exploration.
Hypnosis for Breakups
When a romantic relationship ends, there are often leftover emotions that need to be dealt with and processed including:
- Emotional pain
Most of us need time to recover from a breakup. There may be lingering feelings of an emotional connection (love, like, infatuation, closeness, etc.). Hypnosis for breakups helps you to let go of that emotional connection while still holding on to any positive memories or learning moments. You’ll still have memories from the relationship, but they will not prevent you from moving forward as they have in the past. Additionally, some clients use hypnosis to get ready for a breakup if the partnership is no longer functional or “right.”
If you’re trying to manage the aftermath of a breakup or unrequited love, Modern Day Hypnosis is here to support you. In just a few hypnosis sessions, we can help you process your leftover emotions and find inner peace with the relationship’s outcome.
Hypnosis for Relationship Anxiety
Even though healthy relationships oftentimes bring us joy and feelings of love, some of us experience what’s called relationship anxiety. Relationship anxiety is a type of social anxiety that expresses itself as:
- Fear of rejection
- Inability to function within the relationship
- Hesitancy to become close with another person
Relationship anxiety doesn’t just exist in romantic relationships — it can be found in platonic relationships, familial relationships, and even work relationships.
If you’re experiencing doubt, worry, or reassurance-seeking behaviors, it’s time to consult with Lauren Hall of Modern Day Hypnosis. Together we can find the root causes and work through emotional triggers that may be holding you back from a fulfilling relationship.

- Book an appointment. Modern Day Hypnosis offers in-person and online sessions across the Triad Area. Easily book a session using our scheduling program.
- Use hypnosis to your advantage. We’ll develop a customized hypnosis strategy to get you closer to your goals of a life with fulfilling relationships. Many of our relationship hypnosis clients see significant results in just a few weeks.
Hypnosis is a trance-like state that many of us already experience from time to time on our own. When you’re hyper-focused playing sports, crafting, working, or doing anything that requires your attention, you may be in a hypnotic trance.
Many people who are hypnotized experience a deep state of physical and mental relaxation. There’s usually enhanced focus, feelings of inner peace and safety, and sometimes even drowsiness.
Throughout each hypnosis session with Lauren Hall, she’ll induce a hypnotic state and guide you through suggestions, questions, and instructions. Modern Day Hypnosis then uses hypnotic suggestion to communicate with your subconscious and make meaningful changes that last. While most clients experience similar sensations and feelings while hypnotized, each client has different needs, which is why all treatments are customized.

You may see an improvement in your relationship immediately after your session. The amount of improvement varies from person to person. Usually relationship challenges can be resolved with anywhere from two to four sessions.
Sometimes clients will feel an instantaneous improvement, while others report a more gradual transition. Keep in mind that every session will make an effect, yet we refrain from offering guarantees of change. There is no need for ongoing treatment as hypnosis is not a long-term therapy but we do encourage your commitment to the process until you achieve results. Results are reliant on your participation in the process.
Yes! The goal of the practitioner is for the client to feel safe and secure throughout the session. At no point in your session will you ‘lose control’ of your mind - despite what you’ve heard in popular culture. In over 200 years there has not been a single case of a person being harmed by hypnosis.
Absolutely! Technically speaking, all hypnosis is self-guided since any change that happens in the brain, body or mind is allowed through the client’s participation. Self-Applied hypnosis helps to change not only habits, but your overall sense of self i.e. self care and self confidence. If you are interested in learning more about Self-Applied hypnosis techniques, check out my training and take control of your own mind!
There is no need to prepare for the session, although you may want to discuss your session with your partner in advance. The idea here is to allow the practitioner to gently guide you through the session, in other words, there is no additional work needed on your end until after your session, when you might be given optional exercises to complete on your own.
For the best results, you might choose to define measurable goals, avoiding the use of terms like ‘good’ or ‘better’. For example, ‘I want to reduce the amount of grief around my most recent breakup’.
Yes, hypnotherapy can be performed over the phone or on a video call. It’s just as effective virtually as it is in person. Plus, you get to dial in from anywhere and enjoy the comfort of your own space!
Your partner can be involved completely by joining in on your sessions. Some clients prefer to participate in their session alone, relaying information to their partner after the session is complete. You might choose to attend your hypnosis session without sharing the details of your experience with your partner at all, particularly if you are not feeling satisfied in your relationship.
There is no set rule for the involvement of your partner in your hypnosis experience.
There are no side effects from hypnotherapy for relationships. Directly after your session you might feel a slight light-headedness that usually goes away after a few minutes. On the contrary, most people report feeling lighter and more serene for the first couple of days after their session.
Anyone who is willing and able can participate in hypnosis. There is no such thing as a person who cannot be hypnotized. Hypnosis is an ancient technique that transcends the clients level of intelligence, financial standing, lifestyle, etc. If a person can understand language, they can be hypnotized.
No, you do not have to be in any certain state in your session. Hypnosis can happen in conversation, in a wakeful state or in a deep state of relaxation. There are no rules for your state of mind during hypnosis.
Yes you can drive directly after your session. You may feel more relaxed afterwards but you might also feel more energized and focused.
It is best to have a sense of privacy, even from family members. But if you feel absolutely dependent and can only be comfortable with an additional guest, this may be allowed by your hypnotist.
